Overview
An open-source backend for automating content generation
Media-Master API is an open-source FastAPI backend that helps people automate content generation. It puts the heavy lifting of working with media, such as video transcoding and audio processing, behind a REST API that other tools can call. I architected and developed it as a production-ready API, then documented it so the community can adopt it.
Challenge
Media work is slow, heavy, and easy to break
Transcoding video and processing audio are long-running jobs. Handled inside a normal request, they stall, time out, or fail in ways that are hard to recover from. For anyone automating content, one failed step can hold up everything that comes after it.
Solution
Asynchronous pipelines, FFmpeg, and AI voice built in
I integrated FFmpeg for video transcoding and audio processing, and designed asynchronous processing pipelines with error handling so media manipulation stays reliable. I used AI models like Kokoro TTS and ChatterBox to automate AI voice and voice cloning. The API endpoints and deployment procedures are documented for community adoption.
